Free Writing Coaching for Academics Working on Job, Promotion, or Renewal Materials

If you're working on materials for tenure, promotion, renewal, or for moving from your postdoc to a faculty job, I'd like to help, and I'd like to learn from you.

I'm a writing coach and past lecturer in Critical Writing at the University of Pennsylvania. Over the the years I've worked with academics at every stage, from grad students and postdocs applying for faculty positions to senior lecturers putting together renewal or promotion cases.

​

I'm building out a more formal coaching offering for academics writing renewal and promotion materials. I focus on creating a space and process where you're able to produce documents that you are proud of, that articulate who you are as a scholar and why it matters, and that work. And right now I’m offering free coaching to learn more as I develop and build that offering.

The Details

Two free coaching sessions:

1) an initial conversation (60 minutes) where we talk about your situation and your documents and make a plan together for working on them.

2) a second session where we work directly with your drafts.

​

In exchange, I'll ask you some questions about your experience.

​

This is a particularly good fit for you if any of the following resonate:

• You are working on (or avoiding) materials for tenure, promotion, renewal, or a faculty job search
• You have the sense that the way you think, write, or work doesn't map easily onto what the institutional forms seem to expect
• You find yourself stuck, procrastinating, or cycling through drafts without being able to land on something that feels true
• You are neurodivergent, with or without diagnosis
